History

Andaman Genetics was originally founded in 1998 as Botanic Brothers by Ali, a visionary in the cannabis industry, who recognized early on that “cannabis is not just cannabis.” While many in the market offered similar products, Ali was dedicated to searching for the best phenotypes (phenos) available. His unique understanding of cannabis, paired with his relentless pursuit of quality, quickly set him apart, helping to define a new standard for the industry. This passion and dedication led to the birth of “ALI WEED,” a product that became synonymous on the streets with top-tier cannabis.

The founders poured their hearts and souls into cultivating the finest cannabis, guided by a belief in the plant’s ability to improve lives. Despite facing numerous obstacles, including restrictive laws and scarce resources, their unwavering commitment to quality earned them a stellar reputation throughout the Netherlands and beyond. Botanic Brothers quickly became a beacon of hope and innovation, attracting a loyal following of enthusiasts and advocates who believed in their mission.

In 2007, following Ali’s retirement, his brother Izy, along with two close friends, Memo & Lash, took over the company. Under their leadership, Andaman Genetics (formerly Botanic Brothers) rapidly grew into a trusted name in Amsterdam and the surrounding major Dutch cities, including Nijmegen, Venlo, and Maastricht, where they supplied prominent coffeeshops with the finest cannabis strains. Their commitment to quality and their pursuit of the best phenos established Andaman Genetics as one of the industry’s leaders.

In 2022, with the evolving legal landscape in Thailand and the acquisition of cannabis cultivation licenses, the company officially rebranded from Botanic Brothers to Andaman Genetics. This milestone allowed us to introduce high-quality Thai cannabis to the emerging Southeast Asian market. By combining decades of Dutch expertise with Thailand’s ideal growing conditions, Andaman Genetics continues to innovate and lead in the creation of exceptional cannabis products. Our mission remains focused on excellence, authenticity, and the pursuit of the finest cannabis experience—whether in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, or on the beautiful islands of Thailand.
